Why hello there! You found me! My name is Marina Kelly. I write, I design, I curate. I’m a Pinterest and Instagram lover. I love words and I love pictures – all the things that take you away from your day-to-day and transport you to a lovely world of fiction. Welcome to my website.

I have been writing since I was in high school. My first manuscript was based in ancient Rome and came about because I was studying Ancient History for my High School Certificate (HSC as it was then known in the early 00s) and my imagination ran wild with stories of empires and heroes and villains. I had to let it out! I was the person who made my friends read it (I’m so sorry). It was probably (it definitely was) terrible. I also write scripts which in my mind will be movies and often come fully accompanied by a soundtrack (why not – my world, my rules right?).

I’m a member of Romance Writers of Australia (yay!) and try to enter as many competitions as I can. FUN FACT. Marina Kelly is a pseudonym…does that make me mysterious and exciting? I like to think so. My day life is as a lawyer so I like to keep the law and the love separate.

I love stories – and I love creating characters who have lives and personalities and their own stories within the story. My speciality is romantic comedies – or chick lit. I want you to laugh and I want you to feel like you want to be friends with my characters who often have wild stories and get themselves into delicious mischief. Basically I want you to feel the same way about my characters that teenage girls feel about Taylor Swift.

I’m not entirely sure how this website will work and what I’ll use it for. A blog maybe? Or a site for my writing entries. We’ll see. I want to dip my toe into the world of websites and here I am – tippy tapping my toe in. Wish me luck? xx
